Director / Writer / Producer
Cody Boesen is a director and writer with a sharp eye for visual storytelling and a passion for bold, character-driven narratives. Originally from Wisconsin, Cody earned a degree in Visual Communications, specializing in photography, editing, animation, and film production.
After moving to Los Angeles, he immersed himself in the world of filmmaking—directing spec projects and short films that blend dark humor, psychological tension, and genre-bending twists. His work includes the award-winning horror short “Crucero,” the dark comedy “Conversations With Lucifer,” and comedian Mike Marino’s hit web series “Make America Italian Again.”
Cody also wrote, co-produced, and directed the acclaimed Black Cat Productions shorts “Hindsight,” “Hausfrau,” “Influencer,” and “In the Walls.” These films have received recognition across multiple film festivals, including a Best Stories award for “Hausfrau.”
Most recently, Cody wrote, directed, and co-produced the supernatural horror short “Glaistig,” which earned multiple awards on the festival circuit, including Best Horror Short and Best Makeup. He is currently developing Glaistig into a feature film as the next major project for Black Cat Productions.
As Co-founder of Black Cat Productions, Cody collaborates closely with his wife, Producer and Special Makeup Effects Artist Tatjana Bluchel, to bring immersive, genre-rich stories to life from script to screen.
